Using VIEW3D
Set the model upright
If a model opens on its side, click Set upright. Choose +X, −X, +Y, −Y, +Z or −Z as the upward direction. The model is placed on the floor and fitted to the view. This browser remembers the choice for subsequent files. Automatic returns to the default direction for the file format. Changing direction clears measurements and sections; original file and export coordinates remain unchanged.
2D drawing and screen export
Open Convert / Export. Use Current 3D view (PNG) or Current 3D view (PDF) to save the rendered model view. The view PDF fits an image onto A4 and excludes interface controls and HTML measurement labels; it is not a scale drawing. Choose 2D drawing — DXF, PDF or PNG, confirm source units and choose all three views or a single view. DXF uses real drawing coordinates; PDF and PNG fit the page. Feature edges include hidden edges. No automatic dimensions, tolerances or hidden-line removal are provided. DWG is not available.
1. Open a model
Drag files into the large home-screen drop area or select “Choose a 3D model file.” The Open file button also works after a model is loaded. Opening a new file replaces the current model, so export any review notes you want to keep first.
STEP/STP, IGES/IGS and BREP use the CAD inspection mode. STL and other mesh formats use mesh inspection. OBJ material files, GLTF buffers and textures should be selected with the main model when they are separate files. The included samples are safe examples for learning the tools.
2. Move around the model
Drag with the left mouse button to rotate. Drag with the right or middle button to pan, and scroll the wheel to zoom. Use Fit all to bring the complete model back into view. The coordinate cube provides standard views; the arrows beside it rotate the view by 90 degrees.
3. Measure geometry
Press M or choose Measure. In CAD mode, select points, edges or faces using the appropriate measurement tool. Distance, length, angle, radius, area and volume tools use the imported geometry. Individual measurement labels can be deleted, and settings control units and decimal places. Press Esc to leave the current tool.
In mesh mode, click two points to measure approximate distance and its X, Y and Z components. The approximation marker reflects that the original surface has been represented by triangles. File units and conversion quality influence results; check important dimensions against the original CAD data.
4. Inspect a section or assembly
Section clips the model to expose an interior. Move or rotate the section plane, reverse the clipping side, or reset it. The parts list can show, hide and select assembly components. Assemblies with multiple parts can be exploded or individual parts moved for inspection. Moving a part for inspection does not change its reported original volume.
5. Review wall thickness
Choose Thickness map to calculate a thickness estimate. The legend shows the configured thresholds; thinner regions use warning colors. Analysis runs in a background worker and shows progress. Complex files can take longer to load or analyze. This is an inspection aid and does not certify manufacturability.
6. Keep a review record
Add notes to model locations, then export them as JSON. Screenshot saves the model view as an image. Keep the original model and exported notes together when sharing a review. Notes are not synchronized to other devices by VIEW3D.
7. Convert and download
Open a model, then choose Convert / Export in the top bar. Select STL, OBJ, PLY, GLB, embedded GLTF or OFF, and enter a file name. Confirm the source unit before downloading. GLTF/GLB is saved in meters with Y-up; other formats offer millimeters, centimeters, meters or inches and Y/Z up. Choose all parts or select a mesh part in the viewer before opening the dialog.
The original static model is exported, including hidden parts when All parts is selected. Exploded positions, inspection colors, measurements and section planes are excluded. CAD surfaces become a triangle mesh. STL has no unit metadata, and STL/OBJ/OFF do not preserve textures. Native CAD output and animation are not supported.
Settings and troubleshooting
English is the default language. Settings also offers Korean, millimeters or inches, decimal precision, model display options and conversion quality. Saved choices apply on your next visit. If a model fails to load, check its format and related files, retry with a smaller model, or use a current browser with WebGL support. Clear this site's browser storage to remove cached data and settings.
